A Review Of The Disney Film Wall-E

Arriving to theaters on June 27 of ‘08, Disney Pixar’s “Wall-E” was a huge hit. Having millions of hits, critics ranked this film highly. Between the laughs, and the tears, this movie is over-all a heart warming animated film. Wall-E has gained many friends since the release date, and has quickly raised his popularity level!
WALL-E has been nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. This is such a milestone! No animated movie has ever won Best Picture. This film not only represents friendship and the extend that some go to keep it alive, but it also symbolizes love. Some of you might laugh at that remark, but when you can feel a connection between two animated characters, you know it has been put together very precisely.
Small in size but big at heart, Wall-E embarks on a journey that could change destiny forever. This trip could could change the fate of robots and mankind. This small robot has no idea that what he will find in outer space could take over the entire world. The reason Wall-E left his normal lifestyle is because he met another robot, Eve. Eve stole his heart immediately, and when she left for the distant future, Wall-E followed along like a little puppy.
Wall-E is designed to clean up a waste-covered earth. This job might be the greatest thing that has ever happened to little wall-e because it leads him to Eve, which leads him to the future. Although he comes in counter with something that was not pre-thought, his instinct is to fix it.
When wall-e arrives to the distant future, he is preoccupied with Eve, whom he first left for. But, things start to uncover. He begins to realize that not only his kind, but humanity could be in jeopardy due to imbalances. I am not going to give away the ending. You will have to watch it for yourself!
Briefly, I will run through a couple of the cast members in this marvelous movie. Ben Burtt is the voice of Wall-E and MO. As an american sound designer, ben has been involved in many world hit movies including Star Wars, Raiders of the Lost Ark, E. T. The Extra-Terrestrial, and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Obviously then, Ben is very productive in his job! Go Ben!
The costar who voices Eve is Elissa Knight. This actress has played in many other animated movies including Lil aka “3″ in Toy Story 3, Tia in Cars, and a woman in the restaurant in Ratatouille. Other character’s voices in Wall-E areJohn Ratzenberger who voices John, Fred Willard who voices Shelby Forthright - BnL CEO, and Kathy Najimy who voices Mary.
Filled with laughs, and sad moments, this film has a heart warming plot.

As long as there have been movies, there has been that excitement for your favorite film to debut. Harrison Ford stars in the movie, Extraordinary Measures. The movie is adapted from the real life story of a couple who sacrificed everything they had to find an answer to their illness which is killing their children. The parents take the unusual action of helping to finance research into treating or better still finding a cure for the genetic disease. Is this an extreme action? How many parents would take radical steps to protect the health and happiness of their children?
The answer to this is yes of course most parents would sacrifice all for the health and well being of their family. Most parents however are not as financially equipped nor do they possess the knowledge and skills the proactive parents of the movie enjoy.
It is probably no coincidence the movie was released in January of this year. The same Month Barack Obama was inaugurated as President of the United States. His Presidency heralded an era of hope in American History. The movie released in the inaugural month symbolizes this new age of hope. For American society the movie represents their perceptions of the American way of life for example battling on in the face of adversity.
One of the many themes of the movie is exploring the issues parents of children with disabilities face on a daily basis. The expectation of good quality and available health care that helps to make life more bearable for the children concerned is one such issue. So too is the issue of overcoming apparently insurmountable obstacles.
There is also a sub text to the movie which parallels the real life concern for the New President as well as many Americans and that is the issue of health care insurance.
Americans do not hold a monopoly on overcoming daily challenges and winning through despite the odds. This is common among most cultures. Across the globe people triumph over tragedy and adversity and go on to create hope even in the hardest of hearts.
Although the movie looks at the notion of hope from an extreme case there are examples of hope alive and well and living in the apparent mundane and ordinary. Hope is found wherever individuals and or communities strive and thrive despite expectations to the contrary. To continue to hope despite knowing the desired outcome is not going to change may seem foolhardy in some eyes. However, continuing to fight on brings with it a different idea of the meaning of the word hope. A journey involving hope implies little certainty. What becomes apparent in this type of journey is the human capacity for compassion, generosity and empathy.
Extraordinary measures are taken by people the world over. Going above and beyond what is expected of human beings as parents, children, colleagues, brothers and sisters, neighbours, communities occurs on a daily basis in all walks of life. People are social beings and positive, meaningful interaction with each other is necessary for societies to survive. A new President, what is more a new Black President, has ushered America into a period of optimism. Here is hoping cynicism is kept at bay for quite sometime to come.

Eclipse: Another Fabulous Twilight Movie?

If you are a fan of the Twilight series, then you have to see what this movie Eclipse is all about. It has the teens going wild. It has the adults going crazy as well for it is a movie that many like to watch with their teens. It is a movie that has everyone talking as it keeps getting better and better as many have been following this ever since the first movie has come out.
There are many who have read the book series. Now, many tell you that just like any other movie that is based off the book, you will find some differences. They do say that Eclipse is more closely related to the book and following the sequence of order and so forth as the book which makes a lot of people happy.
This movie has been said by those who have seen it to be the best out of all the three movies that have been filmed as of yet. While some think that this is a bit ridiculous, there are many who say that they were the happy for the change as the plot thickened. So what makes this one so different?
The reason that they are right is because things are all the way around better in this one. The graphics are better. The sound is better. Even the lighting is better in this one. It makes you glad that you spent the money to see it in the theatres.

There are some things that many wonder if they happen in this movie. For one we can assure that the love between Bella and Edward only increases. The reason for this is because their love is unstoppable. Then, not to mention that in many cases Bella is still in danger, but she can get through anything with the man of her dreams.
Her and Edwards love grows as well. That is something you will see in Eclipse. You will see them take their love to a whole new level. Why is that? You will just have to go see the movie for yourself. You can see how this couple moves on to be together.

Disneys Oceans Is An Inspiring Underwater Journey

For a powerful and up close and personal look into the life of the ocean and it’s inhabitants, Disneys Oceans is the movie to see. It was released to theaters on Earth Day 2010 by the Disneynature Studio. Disneynature is the same company who released the critically acclaimed movie “Earth” in 2009.
Directed by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud, this movie makes legendary waves. A man named Romain LeGrand who has been working with Disney since 1995 produced the feature. Well known actor and environmentalist Pierce Brosnan was drafted to narrate the film. His calming voice matches the film perfectly. Two Disney Channel heartthrobs named Demi Lovato and Joe Jonas of the Jonas Brothers, recorded a single titled “Make A Wave” for the soundtrack. This song has inspired many of the young fans to take action and be proactive when it comes to saving the environment.
For some it may be surprising to learn that over three fourths of the earths surface is made up of water. Ninety percent of that water is ocean. The film crew dives deep into places that have never before been explored let alone recorded. The amount of footage they amassed with highly advanced equipment gives the audience a thrilling view the entire way through.
The production of this film took an excruciating amount of time. Two full years went into just the preproduction and planning. Then there were four years of filming. Over seventy five trips were made to destinations that have mostly never before been seen let alone filmed. In the four years of filming, the team amassed over 480 hours of footage. That would take twenty days straight to watch! It took another year after filming was complete to edit the footage down to the length of a regular feature film.
The directors have said that the vision of the film was to answer a simple question. What is an ocean? They want the audience to see that answer up close and personally through this underwater journey. It’s a fragile but ironically strong web of creatures living under in the sea. Exploring it’s depths takes the viewer on a wild ride that won’t easily be forgotten.
Another view that they wanted to express was the affect that mankind is having on this essential resource. Pollution is a major culprit that is threatening the delicate balance of sea life. Financial gain that comes from too much fishing or too much development is also addressed in the movie. They wanted to demonstrate that water is without a doubt a precious resource that sustains all living things and it’s in danger due to humans.
Their intent was not just to show this damage but also to show the amazing way sea life can be resilient. They found several remote areas where wildlife was making a come back, showing how strong the will to survive can be. Stunning footage of survival makes it’s way into the film leaving the audience touched and inspired.
This movie will take the viewer on a heart warming and thrilling journey. Disneys Oceans is an excellent teaching aid and inspiring movie. The viewer can feel what it’s like to swim alongside dolphins and sharks, study the intricate coral reef, and play with the majestic and endangered polar bears. The high definition footage is bound to leave a lasting impression on all who see it.
